One of the biggest frustrations people have with technology is getting past basic, “it-just-isn’t-working” sorts of problems. Although best teaching practice with technology is most important, it can’t be done if technology is in the way. The following evidence proves I can troubleshoot basic problems common with digital learning environments.
The Director of Instruction sends out a weekly blog post to district staff. Many weeks, we, the instructional technology team, include a document with a specific technology tip. The links are archived within the district help desk website.
This year a “Technology Integration” button was included on our district help desk menu. This feature not only allows teachers to submit a basic connectivity issue that a technician can support, but it allows an instructional technology coach to begin the first step of supporting a teacher with technology integration.
